Introduction

This edition of the U.S. Army Leadership Field Manual has been edited for a general readership, particularly for business and organizational leaders.

There is some discussion of conceptions about leadership - formal authority and direct orders - being based in some fact, but largely obsolete and deprecated.

The vital precepts of leadership: are that a leader is a man of character (inner strength) with a high level of competence, and that he sees his power deriving from the trust of those whom he leads.

Since it's an adaptation of a military manual, it is less about the theory of leadership and more about practice
